Thomas Kalaris

Chief Executive, Barclays Wealth

Thomas L. Kalaris is Chief Executive of Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth manager. In November 2009, Mr Kalaris became a member of the Barclays Group Executive Committee.

Prior to taking up his current position in January 2006, Mr Kalaris was Chief Executive, Americas, and Head of Distribution and Research at Barclays Capital, based in New York. In addition, he oversaw all of Barclays investment and wholesale commercial banking activities in the Americas.

Mr Kalaris joined Barclays in September 1996 after 18 years at JP Morgan where he held a number of roles, including Head of Fixed Income Sales, Trading and Research, and was responsible for all activities with investors in the United States.Mr Kalaris graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and received his MBA from the University of Chicago.

He spent most of his school years attending international schools in Southeast Asia. Mr Kalaris serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Dickinson College, the Groton School and Kieve Affective Education, Inc. He also served on the US Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee and is a former Chair of the US Bond Market Association, a predecessor organization to SIFMA.
